It is a great pleasure to be writing to you again, knowing
that all that God has given us is a blessing. It is so
important to pass from one millennium to the other and
to experience the changes that God is bringing about.
More importantly, is to come to a new mentality, not being
conformed to the way that things are now, bur renewing
our interior being. This way our reaction to any circumstance
will be different and will have the seal of God. God is
definitely doing a work, that, just as the prophet Joel
said, "We had never heard or seen."
Each one of us can be a part of this, knowing all that
God wants to do through us. Everybody likes to receive
gifts, but the truth is that God has loaded us up with
the best ones. This is not only so that we can enjoy them,
but also for other people to enjoy them also and be blessed
with what God has for their lives. This may sound easy,
but it turns into a commitment when you understand that
it is your responsibility to take the inheritance of Jesus
and that if you don't speak to the people then they may
not hear what God has for them.2nd Peter 1:3 says "His
divine power has given us everything we need for life
and godliness through our knowledge of him who called
us by his own glory and goodness." This means that
all that I need physically such as a house, food, clothing,
etc. but this also pertains to the things that are not
seen like health, love, peace, joy, trust, and Jesus for
my life, work and the world.
There is a story written in the bible that speaks a great
deal concerning this. It is the story of Isaac and his
future bride. The bible tells us that Abraham was old
and makes his servant, Eliezer, swear that he will go
look for a bride for his son. He says that if she will
not come to him, the servant is free from the oath. Eliezer
leaves with ten camels and loads them with all sorts of
gifts chosen by his master. When he arrives at Mesopotamia
he takes the camels to a well where the young woman would
go and fill their containers. As a sign, Eliezer asks
God that when he requests a drink of water from the young
woman that she may not only give him something to drink,
but also bring water out for his camels. This way, Eliezer
would know that this was a sign from God that the young
woman was to be Isaac´s bride (Gen.24). As Rebecca
approaches, she does exactly as the servant had asked
the Lord. Amazed, Eliezer gives her a ring and two bracelets
and they go to the house of Nacor so that the servant
may explain everything. The father, who was also amazed
by the gifts and the how the hand of God had moved to
make all these things happen, allows his daughter to go
marry Isaac. Aside from being a romantic story, this leaves
us an important message that should not go unnoticed.
Remembering all that is written in the bible is a spiritual
teaching fro us. Lets look where we fit in and what God
wants to say to us.
We have:
| Abraham |
Father of the groom |
God our Father |
| Isaac |
Son and Groom |
Jesus, The bridegroom
of the church |
| Rebecca |
Bride who doesn't know the
groom |
People that
don't know God and must come to know Him |
| Eliezer |
Servant |
Holy Spirit (sent to
be a witness) |
So, where are we? We are camels loaded with gifts!
Camels = The instruments that the Holy Spirit uses
when He arrives with the bride.
Gifts = all of the gifts that God gives us to capture
the hearts of those who have not known Him.
If we have a family problem, for example, nothing else
can happen because I have all of the recourses to solve
the problem favorably. How interesting. Just as the servant
in that time was responsible, so we must understand that
the reason God has equipped us with all these various
gifts, is not so that we hold on to them. They are to
marvel those who don't know the Bridegroom, so that they
can see what He is capable to do in their lives. This
way, we not only have the resources, but we become a resource
to those who need one. We can share the greater gift in
our life that is the life of Jesus Christ in us. We have
infinite resources that God has given us, to such an extent
that if we have any problem, we have His recourses to
solve it favorably. Don't keep your resources, don't misuse
them, take them out into the light, share them with others,
because this is the council of God. In doing so, you will
become a living resource not only for your family, bur
for the entire world.
