Hi, how's it going? Well, here I am again trying to leave
you a positive message for your life. One of the things
that concerns me is the low self esteem that the young
people go through during this time of their lives. I'm
speaking of adolescence. You know what I'm talking about.
The relationship you have had with your parents during
your childhood and adolescence is very important to carry
through your youth. It is interesting to me to see or
to know that how you were treated in your childhood affects
you in your youth. I notice that in a lot of the cases,
the majority is struggling with their self esteem as a
result of that relationship to the point that you don't
accept yourself for who you are. Maybe you don't like
your height, your hair, your nose, or anything else. You
know, that can be fixed with exercise, makeup or just
doing yourself up, but, what will be difficult to fix
is the internal problem that you have made in your life.
Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinks in his heart, so
is he." If you believed when you were told that you
were ugly and that with that hideous face you would scare
somebody, or that you are real stupid, or any other thing
there will be a series of conclusions that you will make
that will lower your self esteem. This will impede the
development of your potential to develop your abilities
to the point of frustration. If you believe all of this,
there will be a great depression that will come over your
life. This means that you have legally opened up the access
to your heart for the devil to destroy your potential
and for you not to accomplish the purpose to which God
has called you. The bible is full of examples of people
who seeing themselves like they looked would have not
accomplished anything. But, seeing themselves as God saw
them, things changed. We have nothing more or nothing
less than Joseph. You know the story, first he had dreams
of greatness, then he had to comfort the accusations of
his brothers. Taken as a slave, servant of pharaoh, sent
to prison over false accusations, serving in prison until
he becomes one of the most prominent political figures
of the time. WHY? Even though he suffered as a man and
could have enveloped himself in a thousand negative situations,
he saw himself as he did in his childhood dreams. He saw
himself differently just like God saw him. Gideon thought
that God was speaking to somebody else, but no, HE was
the strong and valiant man even though he didn't see it.
Finally he catches the drift. How many years have to pass
before you see yourself as brave and strong? Unfortunately,
the years can pass and be wasted because you never knew
that you were a powerful tool of God. This generation
of youth must know who they are in Him and all that we
can do through Him.
A song says that we are His hands and His feet, we are
His people. The thing is that here you must conclude this
in your heart and you will see how your self esteem will
raise by 100%. God sees you as a mighty person, as
a king and priest, as a child of light, as the salt of
the earth, and more importantly, God sees Jesus in you!
How do you see yourself? I will close with two very positive
people, remember Caleb and Joshua? They were certain that
God had given them and their actions support because their
attitudes justified their character. Joshua typifies Jesus.
And Caleb was like a dog. Have you ever seen the position
of a dog when they are next to the table? How do they
wait for the crumbs to fall? If you give them just a little
food, how do they react? This describes the attitude of
Caleb possessing his inheritance with a huge self esteem.
Check it out in Numbers 13. Also, check out the rest of
the spies. They thought that they were grasshoppers and
because of this conclusion they contaminated all of the
people. That whole generation died in the dessert. All
except for Joshua and Caleb. How do you see yourself?
What do you conclude about yourself?
