Conquering the Land of the Giants
by
Richard Hays

There is a land that must be conquered, because God has said it, but there is a problem. This land is full of giants. During the course of your life, you will encounter problems and illnesses. These are like giants that want to kill, destroy and steal from you. The giants have different names: poverty, low self esteem, rejection, disease, and the truth is that if you don't confront them, the will take a hold of your life.
There are giants in every time of life. In our youth we are faced with unmet expectations, rejection, and fear. Later in life, you encounter other giants and so on and so forth. What you must understand is that all of your life you will be faced with giants, so you better learn to be a destructor of giants because if you don't, you will spend the rest of your life being one of their victims.
Lets read 2nd Corinthians 10:3 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh," in our flesh we have feelings and fears among other things, but I don't fight with these realities since "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." I must not listen to arguments contrary to the thoughts of God for me, because the enemy can use them as bridges to begin to work in my life. The power and authority in my life create in me identity as a son of God in Christ Jesus. A satanic stronghold presents itself as an argument to a reasoning. For example: You are going to starve to death; or you are just like your grandfather.
There is a satanic government here on earth and they have an agenda (Jn. 10:10), to steal, kill and destroy. That's why its necessary to use the armor that Ephesians 6:10 speaks of. When I put on each piece of that armor, it has a specific spiritual and natural application over my life. When I put on the helm of salvation and use the sword of the Spirit, I strengthen myself in my identity and the concepts of God. It is not only necessary that I place them in my heart, but that I begin to think in biblical terms.
You need to hear something from the heart of God for you. Maybe you need to go into your closet and pray for 40 minutes or an hour in tongues and you will be able to continue until you hear from God. That will be the sword that you will use to kill the giant that wants to overtake you.
Ephesians 5:25-26 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word" In this passage he is speaking of how the church must come to understand who she is, that she is without sin, not inferior, that is very beautiful, that has authority and power and that must understand that God is madly in love with her. John 17: 3 says "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
It will be very difficult for you to have a change in your life if you don't have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He wants to speak to you about yourself so that you can have those swords sharpened to go and destroy those giants that have already been overcome by the work of Jesus.
